Turfing

A new turf lawn transforms a garden almost overnight, but the result only lasts if the ground underneath is prepared properly. We clear and level the site, improve the soil and lay fresh turf tightly jointed so it knits together into a healthy, even lawn rather than drying out at the seams.

  • Clearance of the old lawn and weeds
  • Rotavating, levelling and soil preparation
  • Fresh, quality turf laid tightly jointed
  • Edging and trimming to shape
  • Aftercare advice to get it established

FAQs

Turfing questions

How soon can I use a new lawn?

Keep off it for the first two to three weeks while it roots. After that, light use is fine, building up as it establishes.

When is the best time to lay turf?

Turf can be laid almost year round apart from hard frost or drought. Spring and autumn are ideal, and we will advise on watering in summer.

How much watering does new turf need?

Plenty at first. New turf needs regular watering for the first few weeks to root well, and we give you clear aftercare advice.

Turf or artificial grass?

Turf is natural and cooler underfoot but needs mowing and care. Artificial grass is tidy all year with no upkeep. We fit both and will talk you through it.
